About Mr. Ward
Hardell Ward is an experienced civil rights attorney with a strong commitment to ensuring equity and fairness for under-resourced and systemically disadvantaged individuals. After initially working as a commercial litigator, Ward returned to his passion for public interest work as Staff Attorney in the Housing Unit at Southeast Louisiana Legal Services in 2009. At SLLS, in addition to his housing work, Hardell led the Juvenile Reentry Assistance Program, which consisted of helping justice‐involved youths return home to their communities. In recognition of his impactful efforts, he was named an Access to Justice Hero. In 2020, he joined the Promise of Justice Initiative, where he currently serves as Director of Community Impact.
Hardell is a proud graduate of Morehouse College and Tulane University Law School. During his time in law school, he was a member of the Moot Court Board and a student-practitioner for the Domestic Violence Clinic.
